Your Gift to the World
“If you want to waken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself,
If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself.
Truly the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own transformation.”
—Lao Tzu

Accept Yourself
Wouldn’t it be powerful if you fell in love with yourself so deeply that you would do just about anything if you knew it would make you happy? This is precisely how much life loves you and wants you to nurture yourself. The deeper you love yourself, the more the universe will affirm your worth. Then you can enjoy a lifelong love affair that brings you the richest fulfillment from inside out. −Alan Cohen
How can I accept myself when I can clearly see that I’m far from perfect? You may ask.
You are perfect. If you would but realize the jewel in the crown that you are, your life would be so much easier. Remember you walk in the Light. You are the Light.
When people compliment you, accept it gratefully knowing that it is the truth.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG
In Gail’s Serenity Garden
It is so basic and yet so easy to forget that what we say and think has a profound effect on our lives. The more we take notice and are aware of our words the greater influence we have on the world around us. It comes from within us at the heart level.

CoCo Lost Again
Home Again Without that Cute Pink Collar
We were feeling quite confident that CoCo would not leave her wonderful backyard again. But when we got home from Church on Easter Morning. No CoCo!
She did come home around 5 pm BUT NO PRETTY PINK COLLAR.
I say, “All’s well that ends well.”
Bill wants to keep her inside now, but she is “Acting Out.”
I told you about CoCo’s most unusual trick is that she puts the scooper in the box after she uses it.
Here are before and after pictures:

CoCo’s New Collar
Now doesn’t she look feminine and pretty in her new pink collar?
For some reason I can’t get this picture to go any larger. But the pink heart says CoCo on one side & our phone number on the back.
I am so very thrilled to have her back and she is now the lap cat I’ve always wanted.
CoCo’s newest trick is (you’re not going to believe this one!) after using her litter box she puts the scooper on top to let me know it needs cleaning! It’s funny because I’ve never actually seen her do it. But when I walk by there it is. No Bill didn’t do it.
I’d be interested to hear your interesting cat story or trick.

COCO’s Missing
I came home from a class last Saturday to find our Coco was missing!
What to do? We started walking the neighborhood (Bill and I). We had finally given her the freedom of the backyard and somehow she got out. We asked everyone we passed and no one had seen her. No! She didn’t have a collar. I was mentally kicking myself all over the street. Bill got in the car and drove around and around. No CoCo. We left the front door and the back door open all day in hopes she would come home. How far can a little cat go? We kept hoping she would come back. But she didn’t and I went to bed in tears. I kept getting up and going downstairs and NO CoCo.
I got up during the night to see if she’d come in, No CoCo. She is a very sociable cat and loves people. Bill was afraid someone would keep her. “She’s gone,” he said.
When I got up on Sunday morning and no CoCo. then I turned on the lights and she came running in the backdoor. She was starving. We decided she is now a house cat. It was fine for two days and then she became quite unbearable.
What would you do? I prayed. I kept saying, I know God will bring her back to me and I pictured her in my arms. God did.
We went to Pet Smart and bought her a feminine little pink collar with a bell on it and a pink heart-shaped tag with her name and phone number on it. Then we released her to the backyard.

I’m Back!
Today is a day to make a new beginning.
Did you make a New Year’s Resolution?
I did! I have decided to get back to writing and be productive starting today.
One of my favorite quotes is “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoyce in it.” I am so grateful for all that I have and all that I can do. I know that many are unhappy and searching for a way to bring themselves out of a slump. So here are some suggestions:
Find the perfect book. I have just started reading one that I am finding perfect for me at this moment.
The Power of Kindness: The Unexpected Benefits of Leading a Compassionate Life written by Piero Ferrucci.
The forward is by the Dalai Lama. I highly recommend this inspirational book.
Exercise: Start slow and build up. Exercise produces endorphins and I always have a feeling of accomplishment
when I exercise.
Meditate at least once a day. Meditation is the path to enlightenment and don’t we all want that?
A new perspective: Take a new look at the possibilites for your life. Look at your life in a new way.
Ask Spirit (God) for inspiration and guidance. “Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find.”
These are Universal Truths.
Blessings to you all in this new and exciting year of 2012.

Live Your Life In Great Joy
Todays Affirmation: Today I smile at everyone I meet.
I am happy and I live my life in deep joy.
Excerpt: From Here to Serenity,
A Spiritual Guide to Transformation
Gail Manishor, www.gmanishor.com
God created each of us out of a need and in great joy. If we were created in joy, shouldn’t we be joyful? It doesn’t work to say “If I only had such and such I’d be happy,” “If only I had the right man or woman I’d be happy,” or “If I just lost 20 pounds, I’d be happy.” Why wait? Be happy now. “That’s easy for you to say,” you may tell me. Well, I am telling you. You can be joyful if you want to be. President Abraham Lincoln once said “A man is as happy as he wants to be.”
Take joy where you find it. Joy can be in the many little things as well as the big things. God doesn’t think in terms of small or big.
Everything is important. Thich Nhat Hanh said, “Sometimes joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.”
What do you love to do? What’s fun for you? Is it writing, drawing, painting, reading, going to the beach, walking in the mountains, skiing or gardening? Be creative in your own way. Make time for the things you love. Live in joy, and joy will live in you.
Joy is a by-product of knowing that God is always with you. It doesn’t mean there will be no sadness in your life. Life is change and growth. There are changing relationships or loss. Life just keeps happening. But it does mean that you can live in serenity knowing this truth.
In This Thing Called You Ernest Holmes wrote “As you enter into life, feeling the Divine Presence in everything, more and more you will hear a Song of Joy singing at
the center of your being.”
