Accept Yourself
Wouldn’t it be powerful if you fell in love with yourself so deeply that you would do just about anything if you knew it would make you happy? This is precisely how much life loves you and wants you to nurture yourself. The deeper you love yourself, the more the universe will affirm your worth. Then you can enjoy a lifelong love affair that brings you the richest fulfillment from inside out. −Alan Cohen
How can I accept myself when I can clearly see that I’m far from perfect? You may ask.
You are perfect. If you would but realize the jewel in the crown that you are, your life would be so much easier. Remember you walk in the Light. You are the Light.
When people compliment you, accept it gratefully knowing that it is the truth.

Go Within

Go within or go without. This is a Universal Truth but what does it really mean? As we go within, into our heart center, we can reach the very depths of our soul. The answer to everything is within. Without, is the outside material world. It is only appearance and it is misleading.
As it is within so it is without. As above so below. These are ancient truths.
Are you thinking, what on earth is she talking about? The Creator and the Source of all is everywhere present. It lives within us because it makes up every cell of our very being. The inner being of us is who and what we are. It is the very essence of life itself.
When we go within in deep meditation, we touch the hem of the garment. We connect with the Divine Essence of our being. Everything is within us.
When there is doubt or fear, look within for the answer.
To go without lies unhappiness and superficiality.
To go within to the depths of ourself is deeper and yet greater than we can imagine. To leave the depths of ourselves unexplored is a loss of great dimensions. The further in we go the more we find: Love, peace, beauty, wisdom, power. It is all there within. God is within and God is endless.
Daily meditation is the way to peace and joy to the abundance of life. It is the answer to any problem or situation for where God is there is only good.
Meditation takes time, effort and dedication. However, it leads to a life worth living, a joy beyond what we now know.
May your days be blessed with peace, love and joy.

One Life, One Mind, One God

We have a small informal meditation group that meets in our home 3 times a week at 5 p.m. We chose 5 pm because that’s when many people meditate on the West Coast. Before the meditation we discuss any experiences, insights or breakthroughs we’ve had since our last meeting.
I recently read that the roots of individual giant redwood trees frequently grow intertwined with those of their neighbors. By “holding hands” underground, the roots form a network that allows the trees to withstand even great storms.
That day as we went into meditation I thought of the many souls who might be meditating at that very moment and even those who were not and I mentally joined hands with them. I felt the oneness of all life. We are all connected and supporting each other. It was a fulfilling experience for me and one which anyone can use in their own meditation.
God is so vast and so magnificent that it is impossible for us to truly comprehend. However, simply realizing at the level of our own ability we can get a glimpse that we all are a part of that One. We are all connected. Each and every one of us matters to each other whether we know it or not. It is so. As we think and meditate on the Oneness, we cannot help but think of the Creator and the Source of all that is. I believe this is the true spiritual life. This is the meaning of it all. God is and because God is, we are. As we meditate and think of the vastness, intelligence and power in this one mind which we call God, we realize how wonderful it all is. And so it is.

Tis the Holiday Season
and I Am in Bliss
Yesterday I woke up happy and grateful. As many of you do, I meditate daily and it was just one of those days when I was in bliss.
I drove to a local art and hobby supply store to pick up colors and gifts for my little granddaughters. I had already gotten them each a mandala coloring book and I carefully chose the perfect twistable colored pencils and marker pens. I’m coloring a mandala for each of them that I plan to put in the mail today. I had just gotten into a long line at the checkout when a clerk came up to me and said directly to me, “This line is for returns only. If you don’t have a return, go over to my line.” So I went and got in the line she indicated and I was next when a pretty young woman in her late 20′s or early 30′s came and shoved in front of me. She said, “I was in front of you in the line.”
I smiled and said, “I didn’t mean to crowd in front of you.” She said, “There were a lot of people in front of you, but you just made a beeline over here.”
I smiled and said I was sorry. I whispered, “I have a little stomach problem, so I wasn’t thinking about who was in front of me.”
She responded, “Other people are busy and have things to do. You aren’t the only one in the world. I have to pick up my children at nursery school.” I continued to smile. Nothing could upset me. I was happy. So I said, “You’re absolutely right.” However she continued her tirade and finally finishing her transaction and feeling proud of herself for putting me in my place with a few final parting words, she flounced off.
I knew she thought she was taking charge of her life and putting me in my place. I didn’t care. I was in bliss.
After I paid and started walking to the car the clerk came out and said, “I’m so sorry that woman yelled at you. She had no right to do that. She was in the wrong line.”
I didn’t care. I just smiled and said, “I guess she was having a bad day, poor thing.”
I was in Bliss and I didn’t care.
That’s how our lives can work when we keep our spiritual practices on a regular basis. It doesn’t matter what other people do or don’t do. Life is good and keeps getting better.
Happy Holidays to all of you,

DESIRES OF THE HEART

Desire
We all want something a new house, a new car, someone to love us, someone we can love, peace and harmony in our relationships. It is possible for us to have whatever we desire. But how do we go about getting it? Know what you want and focus on it. “Ask and it will be given.”
In my experience I have found that desire and prayer can result in our dream being fulfilled. However, there is more to it than wanting and affirming. First, there is a knowing that all things are possible to God. In God there is no little or big. Second, there is letting go of the merry go round of “I want, I need, I’ve got to have.” Third and most important of all there is the knowing that “Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God and all else will be granted onto you.” Ernest Holmes wrote, ”When desire is given a subjective mold and then becomes objectified in the life of the one for whom the practitioner is working, this is demonstration.”
Before anything else we must look to our relationship with God. Go in secret into the quiet of meditation and prayer. Yes, ask for what you need and want, but first ask for the Divine Presence to show up in your life as peace, love and grace. Without God there is nothing. With God there is everything. With God your life is full and wonderful, and isn’t that what you truly desire?
Affirmation: Today I know that God is all I need and want. My desires are fulfilled and I have all that I need.

Live the Life
You’ve Always Wanted to Live
Live It Now!
These roses are what you deserve if you’re giving your gift to the world now. If you’re not living your dream, you can begin now. It’s never too late and you’re never too old. The past is gone, the future is yet to be. Now is the time to live an exciting and fabulous life. Now is the time!
What calls to you? How do you begin? Live in the moment wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. This isn’t easy and it takes practice. It has been a challenge for me because I’ve always looked ahead to be prepared for what may come and for any and all contingencies. In this life it’s necessary to plan ahead. You must do it, of course. But don’t stress on it. Do what needs to be done and then get back to the Now.
I’ve found that living in the NOW is very interesting when you actually do it. When you are driving, don’t be thinking about what you’re going to do when you get there. Think about how you are driving, what’s going on around you, the traffic, the weather, the Divine Presence that’s with you right at this moment.
Be in the place you want to be - not thinking ahead, but noticing what’s around you, the color of the bricks on the building you’re walking toward, the fragrance of the jasmine climbing the post of the entryway, the crunch of the leaves under your feet.
As you rush around always concerned about what might happen, you’re missing a life that’s happening now. Be prepared and then get back to the NOW. When you’re rushing around always concerned about what might happen, you’re missing your life.
Do what you really want to do and have always longed to do and begin to do it now. Begin now. Below is a picture of the result of my doing it NOW. Some friends have said to me, “it’s wonderful that you’ve found a hobby you enjoy at this time in your life.” It’s not a hobby to me. It’s my sacred calling. It’s what I have always been meant to do.
When you accept your calling and do something creative or something that interests you beyond all other things, the beautiful roses in the above bouquet are for you. You deserve roses.
Here I am at my first book signing. I am doing what I am meant to do and I’m doing it NOW!
Please check out the new tab at the top “Epiphanies” and write your Epiphany. We can all learn from each other.
