HAPPY 2012

I’m Back!

Quan Yin in Gail's Garden

Today is a day to make a new beginning.

Did you make a New Year’s Resolution?

I did! I have decided to get back to writing and be productive starting today.

One of my favorite quotes is “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoyce in it.” I am so grateful for all that I have and all that I can do. I know that many are unhappy and searching for a way to bring themselves out of a slump. So here are some suggestions:

Find the perfect book. I have just started reading one that I am finding perfect for me at this moment.
The Power of Kindness: The Unexpected Benefits of Leading a Compassionate Life written by Piero Ferrucci.
The forward is by the Dalai Lama. I highly recommend this inspirational book.

Exercise: Start slow and build up. Exercise produces endorphins and I always have a feeling of accomplishment
when I exercise.

Meditate at least once a day. Meditation is the path to enlightenment and don’t we all want that?

A new perspective: Take a new look at the possibilites for your life. Look at your life in a new way.

Ask Spirit (God) for inspiration and guidance. “Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find.”

These are Universal Truths.

Blessings to you all in this new and exciting year of 2012.

Share Your Gift

Chicago Peace

“…it is yours, this gift. It is the birthright of every living Soul, but we limit ourselves by thought of limitation. Now, we must open up the doors of our consciousness and expand and expand and expand…” Ernest Holmes

“The great mystics have all agreed that man’s life is his to do with as he chooses, but that when he turns to the One, he will always receive inspiration from on High.” Ernest Holmes

Morning is my most creative time. It’s still dark outside when I take my laptop downstairs and write. This morning I glanced up to see my husband Bill’s painting of the sun just setting at Big Sur in California. I am in awe of his God given talent.

Spirit is always expressing through each of us so that we can lift the heart of others by sharing our gift. Excitement, exhilaration and joy will come to us when we share our gift.

Recently, when I presented a workshop based on my book, From Here to Serenity, A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life  a friend said, “You are in your element” and it was true. A lot of opportunities for growth have been presented to me since I wrote and published this inspiring book.

In her movie Louise Hay said she did one thing at a time as she was guided and in taking one step at a time she built a major publishing house. She didn’t know what the end result would be. She trusted and surrendered and because she did, more than she ever dreamed was given to her.

We can learn from Louise that when we trust, when we surrender, our life can flow in amazing ways. Mediate, pray and release and let the Creator take over. Do what your creative gift is and listen to your guidance. Surrender and release. That’s why the fourth step of Spiritual Mind Treatment is so important – surrender and release.

Affirmation: Today I am inspired and filled with joy as I give my gift to the world.

The Creative Process

Today I set the creative process into action by what I say do and think.

Gail's Creativity Rose

I stepped into a puddle on the dining room carpet. As I looked around for its source, I realized the damage was extensive. Where was all this water coming from? As I explored, I discovered the water was coming from a very slow leak behind the refrigerator. The carpet and padding needed to be torn out along with all the kitchen cupboards. Soon the refrigerator and stove were sitting in the middle of the family room. A major, long and very expensive kitchen overhaul took place. Most upsetting of all was that the insurance company we had for 27 years, without ever making a claim, refused to pay a penny.

Later I found a vision board I had created a year ago had a picture of a kitchen with granite counters. I now have a gorgeous kitchen with those countertops. How interesting it is to see the way the creative process works. When I set this beautiful new kitchen into motion a year before, I forgot to write “paid for” on the picture. Lesson learned. However, we are thrilled with our beautiful kitchen.

I put the creative process into motion by using a vision board. When I put the board away it was a way of releasing it into the universe. This allows the creative process to work. It is the forgetting about it that allows it to work. Esther and Jerry Hicks wrote in Ask And It Is Given “Your creative control comes only in deliberately offering thought and when you are visualizing, you have complete control.”

It (the creative process) is a state of giving thought to what you want with such clarity that your Inner Being responds by offering confirming emotion.

I’ve learned we always get what we create. It’s the way life works. When we realize this, we can work with it to create the life we want. It can be fun and exciting when we allow it to be. Look at the interesting life you’ve created. Is it fun? If not, you can uncreate it and recreate a new one more to your liking.

Do What You Love

When I was very young, my father used to say, “You can be a secretary, a nurse or a teacher.  Then you can get married.”

Life didn’t exactly turn out the way I’d planned. It’s the same old story all over again. All my life I’ve been very practical. I went to college and met my Prince Charming. I quit school, went to work and he went to school. He completed college and went to work. I had babies and went back to work. That marriage ended after 18 years. I went back to school and earned my degree in Business Management.

In my spiritual studies I’ve heard for years, “Do what you love and the money will come.” I’m doing what I love which is writing.  I absolutely love writing. I am also a Licensed Practitioner, which includes counseling, meditation, prayer and study. These are my sacred callings.

Through my spiritual studies I’ve learned that everyone is a creative genius. We have only to realize it and explore our special abilities. As we do, we grow in that particular area. Mine has turned out to be writing. When we realize we are creative we can build on our gifts. There really is no limit to what we can do once we begin on our path and do what we were always meant to.

Bee Pollinating Flower

The bee pollinating the flower is a creative genius following his creative role in the flow of life.  Each of us can follow our own creative role by using our special gifts. We all have them to a greater or lesser extent. It takes work and time to develop our gifts. Most of us don’t sit down at the piano at the age of 5 and play a concert before royalty as Mozart did. Yet even Mozart practiced.

I didn’t see myself as creative. Others saw it before I did. Now I see it.

We are all creative Beings. We always have access to the Source. You can’t say you are not creative. Don’t ever say that because your words are powerful and what you say is what you get.

The more you create in whatever area you choose to create the more your creative gift grows.

If you love it, do it. Do what you love and love what you do. Your life will take on wings
