When you fear something, dwell on its opposite. Think about the success and not the failure. What you put your attention on will expand. What you set your intention as, you will receive. This is the Law of the Universe. Fear can take over our lives. It can freeze us into immobility, but only if we let it. We’re afraid to make a move, afraid to make a change even if it might be for the better. We can go into fear about so many things. It might be about our finances, that we have too much debt, or it may be about a job problem, or we worry if we will be safe and secure when we’re ready to retire. Will there be enough money to survive in comfort? Maybe there’s a better position open, but we’re afraid we can’t handle it, so we don’t even apply for the job. We may be afraid of being fired or let go. When we are in fear, we are dwelling on what we don’t want to happen. In this way we are attracting to us that fate. The more we dwell on it, the faster it comes to us.

No matter what the fear, we can break out of the vicious cycle of fear and turn to faith. We have the courage to stand tall to release the fear and know that the God within each one of us is our strength in every need. We do not have to be weak and fearful. We can be strong and courageous.

If you fear something, dwell on the opposite condition. Think about the success and not the failure. Think about the solution and not the problem. Turn away from what you fear and visualize what you do want. Picture what you want as often as you can. Remember, what you put your attention on you will receive. When you dwell on the bad, that’s what you will experience. If you think consistently about the good, it will manifest in your life.

Know with me right now that God is always there for you. God is ever present within your very being. That Power and Presence lives within you and is always available to you. What is there to fear? We are the Divine emanations of the Divine One. Do you realize how powerful that makes us? What can hurt us? We are Divine beings. This is a powerful concept. When you use it, you can break free of the web of fear and move into the light.

Today I let go of fear and know that I am a powerful Child of the living Spirit. I am strong and capable.

Sometimes bad things happen. There is bad in the world. Who can deny it? This life and all that happens in it is an illusion. We are spiritual beings walking a human existence. Evil is not a living entity. It has no power in itself. It is caused by the ignorance, superstition and wrongdoing of man.

In his inspiring book The Pathway of Roses, Christian Larson says “When you see evil, do not become indifferent; proceed at once to add to the good; when the good is on the increase evil is on the decrease.” This is such a beautiful thought I cannot help but dwell on it. The more loving kindness we give and receive, the more good there is in the world. It means we can do something to dispel evil, and that is by seeing good and by doing good. We do not fight against it because what we resist persists.

There is a feeling and a knowing deep within each one of us that good overcomes evil. When we shine the light of truth on evil and wrong thought, good will come forth out of the darkness and shine its light on us and our world. “I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.”
Affirmation: I know that God’s Love is all there is and I stand in the Light of God’s Love at all times.

Same Rainbow

“Then a ploughman said, “Speak to us of Work.”

“When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music.
Which of you would be a reed, dumb and silent, when all else sings together in unison?”
The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran

May your work be something you love and give your all to. May your play be given as much time as your work. Let there be balance in your work and your play so that your life is filled with the music of joy. Everything in perfect balance, Spiritual, work, play, love. It is all good because it is all God.

Accept Yourself

Wouldn’t it be powerful if you fell in love with yourself so deeply that you would do just about anything if you knew it would make you happy? This is precisely how much life loves you and wants you to nurture yourself. The deeper you love yourself, the more the universe will affirm your worth. Then you can enjoy a lifelong love affair that brings you the richest fulfillment from inside out. −Alan Cohen

How can I accept myself when I can clearly see that I’m far from perfect?  You may ask.

You are perfect. If you would but realize the jewel in the crown that you are, your life would be so much easier. Remember you walk in the Light. You are the Light.

When people compliment you, accept it gratefully knowing that it is the truth.

Go Within

Meditation Garden

Go within or go without. This is a Universal Truth but what does it really mean? As we go within, into our heart center, we can reach the very depths of our soul.  The answer to everything is within. Without, is the outside material world. It is only  appearance and it is misleading.

As it is within so it is without. As above so below. These are ancient truths.

Are you thinking, what on earth is she talking about?  The Creator and the Source of all is everywhere present. It lives within us because it makes up every cell of our very being.  The inner being of us is who and what we are. It is the very essence of life itself.

When we go within in deep meditation, we touch the hem of the garment. We connect with the Divine Essence of our being. Everything is within us.

When there is doubt or fear, look within for the answer.

To go without lies unhappiness and superficiality.

To go  within to the depths of ourself is deeper and yet greater than we can imagine. To leave the depths of ourselves unexplored is a loss of great dimensions. The further in we go the more we find: Love, peace, beauty, wisdom, power. It is all there within. God is within and God is endless.

Daily meditation is the way to peace and joy to the abundance of life. It is the answer to any problem or situation for where God is there is only good.

Meditation takes time, effort and dedication. However, it leads to a life worth living, a joy beyond what we now know.

May your days be blessed with peace, love and joy.

One Life, One Mind, One God

Gail Manishor, Author of:
From Here to Serenity, A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life

We have a small informal meditation group that meets in our home 3 times a week at 5 p.m. We chose 5 pm because that’s when many people meditate on the West Coast. Before the meditation we discuss any experiences, insights or breakthroughs we’ve had since our last meeting.

I recently read that the roots of individual giant redwood trees frequently grow intertwined with those of their neighbors. By “holding hands” underground, the roots form a network that allows the trees to withstand even great storms.

That day as we went into meditation I thought of the many souls who might be meditating at that very moment and even those who were not and I mentally joined hands with them. I felt the oneness of all life. We are all connected and supporting each other. It was a fulfilling experience for me and one which anyone can use in their own meditation.

God is so vast and so magnificent that it is impossible for us to truly comprehend. However, simply realizing at the level of our own ability we can get a glimpse that we all are a part of that One. We are all connected. Each and every one of us matters to each other whether we know it or not. It is so. As we think and meditate on the Oneness, we cannot help but think of the Creator and the Source of all that is. I believe this is the true spiritual life. This is the meaning of it all. God is and because God is, we are. As we meditate and think of the vastness, intelligence and power in this one mind which we call God, we realize how wonderful it all is. And so it is.

Tis the Holiday Season

and I Am in Bliss

Yesterday I woke up happy and grateful. As many of you do, I meditate daily and it was just one of those days when I was in bliss.

I drove to a local art and hobby supply store to pick up colors and gifts for my little granddaughters. I had already gotten them each a mandala coloring book and I carefully chose the perfect twistable colored pencils and marker pens. I’m coloring a mandala for each of them that I plan to put in the mail today. I had just gotten into a long line at the checkout when a clerk came up to me and said directly to me, “This line is for returns only. If you don’t have a return, go over to my line.”  So I went and got in the line she indicated and I was next when a pretty young woman in her late 20’s or early 30’s came and shoved in front of me. She said, “I was in front of you in the line.”

I smiled and said, “I didn’t mean to crowd in front of you.” She said, “There were a lot of people in front of you, but you just made a beeline over here.”

I smiled and said I was sorry. I whispered, “I have a little stomach problem, so I wasn’t thinking about who was in front of me.”

She responded, “Other people are busy and have things to do. You aren’t the only one in the world. I have to pick up my children at nursery school.” I continued to smile. Nothing could upset me. I was happy. So I said, “You’re absolutely right.” However she continued her tirade and finally finishing her transaction and feeling proud of herself for putting me in my place with a few final parting words, she flounced off.

I knew she thought she was taking charge of her life and putting me in my place. I didn’t care. I was in bliss.

After I paid and started walking to the car the clerk came out and said, “I’m so sorry that woman yelled at you. She had no right to do that. She was in the wrong line.”

I didn’t care. I just smiled and said, “I guess she was having a bad day, poor thing.”

I was in Bliss and I didn’t care.

That’s how our lives can work when we keep our spiritual practices on a regular basis. It doesn’t matter what other people do or don’t do. Life is good and keeps getting better.

Happy Holidays to all of you,
