Everyone goes through periods of loneliness. There is someone who loves you. Yes, you are loved more deeply than you know. You are God’s unique creation, God’s child. God is always expressing through you and God can express only good. You are never alone. Wherever you are, God is. Every step you take is on holy ground. God walks with you every step of the way. Look around you and see God expressing everywhere you look. You can’t be lonely when the Infinite One is with you. Your relationship with God is the most profoundly important one you will ever have.

Go to God in prayer and meditation, and then take the steps that you are guided to take. Become involved with the life around you. Serve those who are in need. Exercise will increase the endorphins that work to lift your spirits. Learn something new and interesting by taking classes and in the process making new friends. The right friend is already there for you.

I am a beloved Child of God. I am needed and important and I am never alone, for God is with me at all times.

A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life

An excerpt: FROM HERE TO SERENITY: A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life

As we learn about the Universal Law and how to use it, we eventually come to realize it is when we release the desire to use the Power (God) and allow the Power to use us that we step up to a higher state of consciousness. It is when the awareness of the Divine Presence that dwells within us becomes so strong and when we are open to It that we transform our lives. It is as we surrender to God that we move to a place of enlightenment and we become that which we already are, God-beings living in human bodies. We are spiritual beings living a human experience. It is at this time that we come to a place of deep serenity. In the beginning we may not remain there all the time, but the more we practice prayer and mediation and these principles of life the more we time we spend in serenity.

Pray Rightly

Excerpt: From Here to Serenity, A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life
Author: Gail Manishor

Praying rightly is not begging, pleading or bargaining with God. It is not “God, if you do this one thing for me, I will do something for you.” God already has everything It needs. Prayer is aligning ourselves with God knowing the Truth that God is the only Power.  God does not care if we pray, we are the ones who benefit from this communion with God. This means when we think rightly, live in integrity, pray knowing we will receive, our prayers are always answered.

All prayers are acceptable to God. However, praying rightly is using affirmative prayer. The following is a five step prayer that affirms what you are asking God for. Use your own words and make your prayer personal. “It is done onto you as you believe.” Pray until you know deep within that your prayer is already answered.

Step 1: Recognition.
It is recognizing and acknowledging that God is present. Say, “God Is Love, Peace and Joy.”

Step 2: Unification.
God is expressing as you and living in and through you. Say, “I am One with God.”

Step 3: Realization.
Affirm the truth of what you want. “I am now in perfect health.” Or “All credit card bills are now paid in full and they stay that way.”

Step 4: Thanksgiving.
Give thanks for the answer to your prayer. Even before we ask, all prayers are answered in the perfect way. Say, “Thank you God.”

Step 5: Release.
Release your prayer to God in faith knowing that it is already answered. Say, “I release this prayer into the Law and I let it be, and so it is. Amen.”

Following is an example of an affirmative 5 step prayer:

Step 1: There is One Infinite Eternal Spirit, a Divine Being, God, and It is everywhere present, in through and around everyone and everything in this Universe. It is our Creator and Our Source. There is One, there is no other power.

Step 2: And I am One with It, One with the Power and the Presence that lives in and through me, as me.

Step 3: I know that I am loved by God, and that God is indwelling in me as me and in this great Love the healing power of God is flowing
through me, healing me at this very moment. I know that every cell, every muscle, every tissue of my body is now healed.

Step 4: I am so grateful to God for this healing. I give thanks that the Law is always working.

Step 5: I release this prayer into the Law, and I let it be. And so it is. AMEN

Affirmative prayer is not meant to be a “formula” prayer. It is a guide to help us pray rightly. Once it is understood as a means of acknowledging the power and presence of God and our oneness with God we will be guided to pray in any way we wish. Know that we are One with the One Power and Presence and that what we affirm is already done.

God can do no more for you than God can do through you. God helps those who help themselves. Pray on anything and everything. Nothing is too insignificant. God’s not too busy for you. God knows what you need and the answer is already in place. All you need to do is accept it. God works through you to accomplish your goals.
You are God’s hands and feet. Pray for the guidance and wisdom to help you move toward your goals. Never complain or whine, always praise and bless everything and everyone.

Many people ask, “Why are our prayers not always answered?” Prayers are always answered; however, there is a but. An example could be that you are praying that a loved one will recover from a serious illness. That soul may be ready to go back to God. He are she may have made an agreement before its birth to accomplish a certain thing before it makes its transition (death). It’s not our decision to make. The Divine plan for this soul may not be our plan, but it is always the right plan. Therefore, when we pray for something, always include that it be in God’s perfect plan and timing and not your own desire. If you love this person, you will want what’s best for him or her and not for yourself. If a loved one is in severe pain, he or she may be hanging on to life out of sheer will-power. This soul could be staying
for your sake although he or she may wish to go on. At this point you may with love and compassion give him permission to move on. It is his life and not yours. Allow him to break free of the bonds of your love and your need and release him to his highest good.

I pray in deep faith knowing that before I ask, my prayer is already answered. As I believe, so it is.

 How to Deal With Guilt

I’ve known many good parents who are alienated from their adult children. It’s sad for both parent and child. Everyone has done something they wish they’d done differently. One reason we are in this life is to learn from our mistakes. Wisdom comes from making mistakes and moving on. We must forgive ourselves for the mistakes we’ve made. If we don’t forgive ourselves we make ourselves miserable. Forgiveness is a freeing experience. If forgiveness is a difficult word for you, use the word release instead. Thinking of forgiveness as release can make it easier to accept.

To reach peace and serenity, it’s necessary to go through a process of forgiveness. First, we have to admit to ourselves that what we did was a mistake. If the person we have harmed is still alive, we must ask their forgiveness, but even if they don’t forgive us, we can forgive ourselves. Release guilt, and surrender it to God. Otherwise guilt eats away at us and can cause actual physical illness. No matter what we may have done, we must face it and make reparation if we can. Life is not about holding onto our guilt, but about learning and growing from our mistakes.

“Sonia Choquette, Ph.D. wrote in her book The Psychic Pathway, “Forgiveness and acceptance break down the final walls between your conscious mind and your soul.” Forgiving yourself and others releases a block that is holding you back from your path to joy, wisdom and enlightenment.

Write down that guilt. Make a list of the things you may have done that hurt others. It is like peeling away the skins of an onion until you get to the very heart of the matter.

Just when you think you’ve gotten to the last layer, like an onion, there is another one to peel away.

Now take that list, read it and with a prayer of release, burn it. The prayer of release can be something as simple as the following:

Prayer of Release

“Spirit, I now release all of my errors of judgment and everything I have done to hurt myself or anyone else. I know I am surrounded and filled with Your love always and forever no matter what I may do. I pledge to make the best restitution I can and I now release the burden of guilt and regret and I let it go. Thank you, God. And so it is. Amen.”

Forgiveness is a freeing experience. The complete release of the issue, both the guilt and the blame, result in a total freedom from the heaviness of the guilt and blame syndrome. Stop saying “I should have” done this or that. Stop the self-blame. God’s love is constant and enduring. You will feel lighter and freer than you have ever felt before.

When we are able to release guilt and establish an honest communication with the children we are estranged from, we may be able to begin to rebuild our relationship with them. Don’t look at the problem, look at the solution. There is always a solution. Stand firmly in the Light of God, which is our support at all times. Love is always the answer.

Years ago my practitioner found a statement in the Science f Mind magazine and shared it with me. I have used it to forgive the hurts I have received through the years but had been unable to completely release, and it has freed me.

Write the following statement 21 times a day for 21 days. If you miss one day you must start over. By the end of the 21 days you will have broken free of the heavy burden of guilt.

Write “(name) I love you, I bless you, I forgive you. I release you to your highest good as you love, bless, forgive and release me. Now I am free.”

Steps to Faith,

Perseverance and Endurance

Faith is more than believing, it is knowing. How do we get to that state of complete and strong faith?

  1. Ask Spirit for the faith that moves mountains. Ask, and it will be given to you. Persist in your pursuit of faith.
  2. Proceed as if you already have that faith. Speak as if you have it now. Your words have power.
  3. Pray unceasingly. Make everything you do a prayer. The mystic, Brother Lawrence, made every menial task he did a prayer. He was a lowly monk who washed the pots and pans in the kitchen and swept the floor of the monastery. Yet bishops and kings came from great distances just to be in his presence.
  4. Read and contemplate Chapter 2 of Practicing the Presence by Joel Goldsmith. Meditate on his words.
  5. Say the following affirmation many times every day.

I have the faith, strength and courage to endure. I know that God’s good for me is already here, and I am now ready to accept it.

Recreate Your Life – 7 Steps to Help You Move On

“Take a look at the people you are spending your time with. Are they always complaining or are they happy and enthusiastic about life? It is often necessary to release old friends who can bring you down, and move ahead in your life with those who will help you grow.”

From Here to Serenity, A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life,

Do you feel stuck? When your life seems to have taken a turn for the worst and it appears as though there is no way but down, there is  something you can do about it.

Today can be the first day of a new life for you.  When all seems lost, you can begin again.

  1. Mentally wipe the blackboard of your life clean. What’s in the past is gone. I know you’ve heard this before, but this time listen. Begin again, right now, today.
  2. Pray. Of course you can pray. But when we are in the midst of difficulty sometimes we forget. Pray with an absolute knowing that Spirit (God) has already answered your prayer. You haven’t looked. You haven’t listened.
  3. You can look and you can listen now.
  4. Read spiritual motivational books. I just began reading Joel Goldsmith’s Conscious Union With God. Each sentence gives you something to ponder and read over. It’s not a quick-read. It’s to be savored and taken into your heart. Goldsmith’s writing is a gift that keeps giving. I reread many of his books over and over.
  5. Spend time in contemplation / meditation.
  6. Journal your thoughts as something comes to you. I just bought a new journal A Journal With the Poetry of RUMI. This journal has the most inspiring artwork by Michael Green.
  7. Go outside and look at the beauty in the world. It is all Spirit expressing. Revel in it.

If you take the steps I’ve suggested here, your life will change for the better.
