TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE

YOU CAN TRANSFORM YOUR LIFE

In his textbook The Science of Mind Ernest Holmes wrote “Do not dwell upon adversity but think plenty into everything, for there is power in the word. Meditate on the things you are doing as being already done–complete and perfect.”

Stop going over and over in your mind how bad things are or have been. It is only in moving to a higher place of thought that you can move on in your life. It is only in letting go of the past that you can move forward. It is only in surrendering to God that your life can change. It is only through prayer and meditation that you can transform your life.

Forgiveness is extremely important if you want to move on to a place of serenity. Look back over your life and go through a process of forgiving for each person who harmed you. Forgive and love yourself.

PROBLEMS

Trust the ProcessPROBLEMS/CHALLENGES/PROJECTS

Instead of naming it a problem, which has a negative connotation to it, we can call it a challenge or a project. Life is filled with issues. It’s part of life. Difficulties or challenges seem to come when we least expect them. We sometimes ask “Why Me? Why Now? Haven’t I had enough problems for one lifetime?” When we go through the hard times, we can compare it to Jesus being forced to carry his own cross, or Moses wandering in the desert. We can look at these challenges as cleansing rituals. They purge us of our cosmic impurities and prepare us for a greater life. We are here to accomplish something, to learn and to grow spiritually. When challenges are thrust upon us, we can know that God has already given us all the strength, power and wisdom we need to get us through them and to come out of each crises stronger than we were before.

Know that when we’re in the dark, there is a reason for the darkness. We need that growing time. There is a perfect timing–God’s timing. I call it Divine Timing. While we’re waiting for the light to come, we are trusting, knowing the truth. Accept what is. As we accept what is, peace and joy are inevitable.

When we view the problem or challenge as a project, it give us a different perspective of the situation. If it’s a project, it means there’s a way to go about making the project have a successful outcome.
In a recent sermon Rev. Dr. Christian Sorenson said “A problem is an opportunity and not a roadblock. It is an opportunity in which we can use our self to create our dream.”

He also said, “When an obstacle comes up, “Don’t take your eye off the vision. Let them (obstacles) be a launching pad for your vision.”

Above all, stop giving energy to the negative, to the problem. Think on the solution instead. Be assured that your life will turn around.

Maya Angelou said, “He would not have carried me this far to let me down now.

Affirmation: I know that whatever happens, God means it for good, and I now place my trust in the Divine Presence. I have the strength and courage to go on. There is a brighter day ahead for me.

Do you have a feeling in the back of your mind, (perhaps planted there when you were very young), that poverty is a virtue? This is old, out-of-date thinking. what could be virtuous about being poor, about not being able to pay the rent, about not having enough to eat, about barely being able to exist? Nothing.

To release debt from our life we must first forgive. God is always at the center of everything we are experiencing. You will know that forgiving is finished when you can be grateful for the wisdom you have received through the process of forgiveness.

It is very important to give thanks when we receive a gift, no matter how small the gift or amount may seem. Sometimes we are in such a rush we don’t even notice the extent of god’s gifts to us. Take the time to notice these blessings. Keep a Gratitude Journal to help you realize how very blessed you are.

HOW TO PRAY RIGHTLY

Pray Rightly

Excerpt: From Here to Serenity, A Spiritual Guide to Transform Your Life

Praying rightly is not begging, pleading or bargaining with God. It is not “God, if you do this one thing for me, I will do something for you.” God already has everything It needs. Prayer is aligning ourselves with God knowing the Truth that God is the only Power.  God does not care if we pray, we are the ones who benefit from this communion with God. This means when we think rightly, live in integrity, pray knowing we will receive, our prayers are always answered.

All prayers are acceptable to God. However, praying rightly is using affirmative prayer. The following is a five step prayer that affirms what you are asking God for. Use your own words and make your prayer personal. “It is done onto you as you believe.” Pray until you know deep within that your prayer is already answered.

Step 1: Recognition.
It is recognizing and acknowledging that God is present. Say, “God Is Love, Peace and Joy.”

Step 2: Unification.
God is expressing as you and living in and through you. Say, “I am One with God.”

Step 3: Realization.
Affirm the truth of what you want. “I am now in perfect health.” Or “All credit card bills are now paid in full and they stay that way.”

Step 4: Thanksgiving.
Give thanks for the answer to your prayer. Even before we ask, all prayers are answered in the perfect way. Say, “Thank you God.”

Step 5: Release.
Release your prayer to God in faith knowing that it is already answered. Say, “I release this prayer into the Law and I let it be, and so it is. Amen.”

Following is an example of an affirmative 5 step prayer:

Step 1: There is One Infinite Eternal Spirit, a Divine Being, God, and It is everywhere present, in through and around everyone and everything in this Universe. It is our Creator and Our Source. There is One, there is no other power.

Step 2: And I am One with It, One with the Power and the Presence that lives in and through me, as me.

Step 3: I know that I am loved by God, and that God is indwelling in me as me and in this great Love the healing power of God is flowing
through me, healing me at this very moment. I know that every cell, every muscle, every tissue of my body is now healed.

Step 4: I am so grateful to God for this healing. I give thanks that the Law is always working.

Step 5: I release this prayer into the Law, and I let it be. And so it is. AMEN

Affirmative prayer is not meant to be a “formula” prayer. It is a guide to help us pray rightly. Once it is understood as a means of acknowledging the power and presence of God and our oneness with God we will be guided to pray in any way we wish. Know that we are One with the One Power and Presence and that what we affirm is already done.

God can do no more for you than God can do through you. God helps those who help themselves. Pray on anything and everything. Nothing is too insignificant. God’s not too busy for you. God knows what you need and the answer is already in place. All you need to do is accept it. God works through you to accomplish your goals.
You are God’s hands and feet. Pray for the guidance and wisdom to help you move toward your goals. Never complain or whine, always praise and bless everything and everyone.

Many people ask, “Why are our prayers not always answered?” Prayers are always answered; however, there is a but. An example could be that you are praying that a loved one will recover from a serious illness. That soul may be ready to go back to God. He are she may have made an agreement before its birth to accomplish a certain thing before it makes its transition (death). It’s not our decision to make. The Divine plan for this soul may not be our plan, but it is always the right plan. Therefore, when we pray for something, always include that it be in God’s perfect plan and timing and not your own desire. If you love this person, you will want what’s best for him or her and not for yourself. If a loved one is in severe pain, he or she may be hanging on to life out of sheer will-power. This soul could be staying
for your sake although he or she may wish to go on. At this point you may with love and compassion give him permission to move on. It is his life and not yours. Allow him to break free of the bonds of your love and your need and release him to his highest good.

 Affirmation:

I pray in deep faith knowing that before I ask, my prayer is already answered. As I believe, so it is.

SPIRITUAL WISDOM

Getting Rid of the Bitters

Yesterday a dear friend wrote to me that a friend of hers got a great job that she, herself wanted. She was happy for her friend, but asked “How do I get rid of betting bitter?”

Sometimes life seems unfair. the truth is that no one can take your good from you. The job was her friend’s good. My friend’s good is still there. We may have a glorious dream of what our life is going to be. Then something happens that knocks us for a loop. The dream is shattered. It couldn’t happen, not to us, but it does happen. What did we do wrong? Why do we have to go through this?

Your good comes to you at the right time, in the perfect way and in God’s perfect timing. Sometimes that seems too long for us to wait. We don’t want to wait for what we want. We want it now. We think we need it now. When we learn to trust God and relax into the Peace of Spirit, we learn to let go and allow our life to work for us. We are rewarded in a far greater way than we would have first imagined. God is Infinite Wisdom, indwelling within us, and always available to us.

Take the time now to go within to that place where Spirit always is. Allow the perfect plan to flow through you. Know now that Spirit wants all that is good and perfect for you.

Affirmation: Today I know that God’s perfect timing is at work in my life. I now turn my life over to God, knowing that my success is assured.

I used to be a worrier. Through the years of study, meditation and prayer I’ve learned to trust in the process of life. I’ve learned that I am strong and capable of handling life as it comes. What is true for me is also true for you. You have all of the courage, all of the strength you need to move through whatever difficulties arise on your path. You have a deep reservoir of strength and you can trust yourself to handle what needs to be done.

When troubles or roadblocks come up on our path, when we are worried or concerned, that is the time to put our trust in the Divine Presence, in Spirit, and know that we can now relax knowing that God is in charge. We can let go and trust in the knowledge that everything’s going to be okay.

Affirmation
I know that whatever happens, God means it for good, and I now place my trust in the Divine Presence.
I have the strength and courage to go on. There is a brighter day ahead for me.
